The Power Plate vibration training system, as used by Madonna and Kylie has been found to be twice as effective as normal non-vibrating exercise at fighting fat.

Good vibrations

While the research into exercise using the Power Plates vibrating platform didnt exactly identify why exercising on the vibraton platform burns more fat it is thought that the vibrations running through the platform into the body trigger muscle contractions that burn more enrgy than normal floor exercises.

Research into the Power Plates

The research study into the effectiveness of exercising using Power Plates split subjects into 4 groups:

Three groups were put on identical exercise and diet programmes. The first used the Power Plates, the second group on traditional exercise and the third no exercise at all.The four group acted as the control group with no exercise or diet changes at all.

Research into Power Plates findings

The Power Plates study found that those who exercised on the Power Plates vibrating platform and ate a calorie controlled diet lost twice as much body fat from around their abdominal area compared to the group who used traditional exercises and the same calorie controlled diet.
