I have started to drink black coffee before my cardio workouts. It allows me to train for longer and maybe harder (though I only exercise at 60% max.

So, if you are looking to increase fitness and burn excess body fat drink coffee before a workout. It is like rocket fuel!!!

Caffeine is a stimulant and has been proven to help with aerobic work. Just go careful if you have blood pressure issues.

Stop exercising at 60% MAX though....a waste of time!!

Hi Nigel

good to see you diving into a health and fitness regime

Using Caffiene has shown to be beneficial in some and this may be due to the effect of biochemical individuality and its effect as a stimulant on the sympthetic nervous system.

I would be wary of relying on a stimulant to boost performance. Caffiene has a substantial affect on the adrenal glands and cortisol production.

AS a rule if you are already stresses, participating in extended CV workouts and consumption of a stimulant could cause hypoadrenia and subsequent adrenal fatigue.

If you are stressed this is the last thing that you're body needs. If you are doing CV for weight loss try a switch to regular resistance training, as this can have a much better effect on weight loss than CV without the stress hormone production.

might be of use to you.

Cheers

Hi Nigel,

I must say, very good points raised by tommo. It is very important that you keep in control of your caffiene consumption. Maybe a thermogenic (l-carnatine) would be an ideal replacement following a bout of caffiene. But try not to let one product determin your fat loss goals, its amazing what you can acheive from minor changes in your training and diet alone.

If i can help further just give me an email, sales@emotive-fitness.co.uk

Well,

Protein food will also provide us with lots of energy. High protein low carb diet like oats, cornflakes, carrot, kidney beans or pinto on salad or hearty-split-pea or may be lentil soup should be taken for extra fiber and protein. We should eat low fat chicken, fish, dry beans and peas as protein rich diets. We should eat at least two vegetables in dinner and should have our dinner early at night.

As a rule of thumb high protein low carb diets will not work for everyone and vice versa. A diet needs to be a product of understanding of chemical individuality which can have a huge impact on physiological, dietary and pschological traits.

Another point to consider is that it is thought that up to 60-70 % of the worlds fair skinned population have an intolerance to gluten which can dessimate the mucossal lining of the gut. Therefore breads, pastas, and cereals should be removed from the diet for a period of three to six months to help the gut heal. They should only be reintroduced on a basis of every for to five days.

I think that vegetables should also be used in every meak of the day including breakfast, you only have to break the mindset of those who market grains as a healthy choice for breakfast and get back to eating proper whole foods including meat at most meals for everyone. In short forget about the caffeine and eat properly and you will head towards a more optimal weight without the need for overstimulation of the supra renal/adrenal glands which will ultimately burn out your desire to exercise.
