Is it me or do personal trainers insist on training their clients with stability balls simply to justify their fee?

Every personal trainer at my gym trains their clients with stability balls and dumbbells seemingly every workout simply, I think, to show the client that their fee is warranted because they must pass clients the dumbbells, discuss activation of the 'core muscles' and take the dumbbells away after a set is finished.

I agree in the fitness industry there is a fair bit of band waggon jumping, if one trainer starts with a 'new' method of training alot of others tend to copy it.

However I think that it takes alot more than using a stability ball for a trainer to justify thier fee, I think that if a stability ball is used as part of a planned session, there is no problem with it. One of the goals of a personal trainer, besides helping clients achive their personal goals, is to push them further than they could on their own. One way of doing this is by keeping clients interested by using methods they may not have tried before.

Just my opinion.

Cheers Shlee, I passed on that one because the contract was very vague so am looking at a few others. Incredible just how many positions there are. Looking more for jobs where there are teachers already there. Thanks again for your info.
