Re; “My 12 Week Transformation”

Dear Steve,

I felt I had to put ink to paper and inform you why I’m enjoying my visits to Quest. Although a member for the last three years, it wasn’t until 15 weeks ago that I realised I had just been simply going through the motions. You see up until then, I would turn up at the gym sporadically, wander from machine to machine with no definite plan, snack on junk foods and make my job the general excuse for not turning up regularly, re; I’m too tired, it’s too late tonight, I just can’t seem to fit the time in! I also had this strange idea that I knew what I was doing. I had pushed weights in the past and felt there wasn’t much more that I could be told. How wrong I was!
15 Weeks ago I was feeling particularly jaded, I was three stone over weight and my fitness levels were at an all time low. Thus I enrolled in Steve Wall’s personal 12-week training programme.
This turned out to be one of my best investments, what an inspiration Steve is. The first topic discussed was exactly what I wanted to get out of the programme, not him telling me, but him asking me — thus a plan was formulated, Nutrition was next with solid reasons for my putting on weight— thus a daily food diary was inaugurated. Then the training discussed. I remember his opening line of give me 12 reps — thus I pushed them out with ease, to which he retorted, right, do it again, but this time properly — I only managed six. I learnt about the importance of good technique. Within weeks not only did I feel the difference, but also work colleagues and friends began to comment how I was changing. However, being human there was the odd hiccup on the way, but Steve was always there with his words of encouragement and made me feel it was ok to slip on occasion as long as you know why you slipped, so could then get back on track.
Even during the 12 weeks when I suffered a broken rib through work, he would have me working on lower body I then suffered a knee injury, again through work — so we concentrated on upper. The bottom line was in the past, that would have been the perfect excuse to take a break - however I was enjoying the training, my body was changing and I was changing! Not only was I losing fat, but I was also putting on lean muscle and my strength had doubled.
The main thing is that I’ve learned that those 12 weeks wasn’t the end result, but just the foundation. At the end of week 12 we discussed new goals and a different training plan. Don’t get me wrong, I still enjoy pizza and a few pints, but I enjoy them more knowing that I’ve earned them without feeling guilty anymore. For the first time since joining Quest I now have the occasional person coming up to me and asking how to do a certain exercise or set. This I feel is down to Quest’s very own Mr Motivator, Steve Wall.
Please could you pass on my thanks to Steve.
Kindest Regards
Alan Gibbon (A very satisfied Customer)

"My thighs have no dimpling now (which I used to have quite a bit on the back upper thighs). I also cannot "pull back" any extra skin from the thighs, that is to say everything is solid. Also, my butt cannot "pinch an inch" but the size seems the same. It appears the butt is rock hard and cannot make it jiggle. My legs and butt are solid even when the muscles are relaxed." Steve is always there for support and encouragement!

Personal message
Attitude The Longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill. It will make or break a company… a church… a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we embrace for that day. We cannot change our past… we cannot change the fact that people act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one thing we have, and that is our attitude… I am convinced that life is 10% of what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it. And so it is with you… we are in charge of our ATTITUDES.
