External Obliques

Spanning the length of the midsection, the external obliques muscle runs diagonally towards from the centre of the body, in a V formation. Recruited during the flexion of the torso, the external oblique shares the characteristics of the other midsection muscles, and can be targeted with exercises which involve this motion.

The external oblique can be seen in many competitive bodybuilders when on stage, largely due to the low levels of body fat on the athletes. The external oblique will usually only be visible on those with low levels of body fat, and to achieve this we need a regime which is focused as the reduction of overall body fat.
