Researchers in the US have found that vitamin supplements could be completely useless if opened and then stored in the kitchen or bathroom due to the humid nature of these rooms.

Scientists found that vitamin supplements C and B are prone to an irreversible process called deliquescence. This means that the nutrients found in vitamin and dietary supplments may literally dissolve into thin air.

Scientists found that even securing the lid back onto the vitamin supplment bottle wasn't always a gaurentee that deliquescene wouldn't occur.

The vitamin supplement industry in the UK alone is worth £600 million a year. What this news will do to the industry only time will tell.
