BUPA joins forces with Fitness First

- 27th of February 2009

With millions of people joining gyms this month, only to give up before they achieve the results they were looking for, BUPAand Fitness First have come up with a revolutionary motivation system to keep people at the gym once and for all.

The groundbreaking system monitors the progress of your gym workout with more effective ways of measuring your health and fitness and is being rolled out in 168 Fitness First health clubs across the country.

The BUPA Health Check Tracker is a 16-point programme which shows the impact positive lifestyle changes and exercise, have on your body both inside and out. The Health Check Tracker, which is incorporated into the Fitness First GET RESULTS! programme, tests 16 different physiological and physical signs and monitors them over time. As well as standard tests such as weight, body mass index and flexibility, the tracker also monitors stress and sleep patterns, and gives a detailed picture of your overall health and wellbeing. People will also have 24-hour online access to the Health Check Tracker to monitor their progress any time, day or night.

Following an initial health check, a detailed report and personalised information shows what shape people are really in. Through GET RESULTS! Programme with Fitness First, they are then given support and expertise to create a workout which will address their areas of concern and can monitor their progress on an ongoing basis. As well as continued support through the online health centre, which includes a wealth of health related articles and tools, there is a health check update and programme review every six weeks.
