Golfing benefits your budget and your body

- 19th of February 2009

A north Manchester golf club is launching a new flexible way of paying for golf that is designed to deliver health and financial benefits. Aiming to sign up at least 100 new members, Whitefield Golf club is introducing Flexi-Golf, a unique pay-as-you-go style of membership which takes a lead from the flexible purchasing style of mobile and home entertainment packages with which we are all so familiar.

The flexi-golf scheme is available from the 1st April 2009 and costs £299 per annum plus a low green free charge of only £10-£15 per round. This compares to standard membership costing up to £1200. The new pay-as-you-go scheme is for people who can¹t make a time commitment to full membership and wish to enjoy the financial benefits of paying only when they play.

Commenting on the health and financial benefits of Flexi-Golf, Martin Gilbert, President said:

"Health experts have been saying for some time that golf is good for your health and your heart. Playing a round of golf has the same health benefits as a 45 minute fitness class. A round of golf on a glorious day with friends not only makes you feel great but helps with weight loss and lowering cholesterol, it gives your heart and bones a good work-out and helps induce a great night¹s sleep. Add to that the cost savings on annual membership, we think it¹s an irresistible package for golfers!"

For more information about the flexi-golf scheme interested golfers can join existing members at the club for an open evening on Wednesday February 25th, or visit the website at www.whitefieldgolfclub.com.
