Colin Farrell workout: Get a body like Colin Farrell

Irish superstar Colin Farrell is as well known for his body, almost as much as he is for his bad body ways and films, including Tigerland, SWAT, Miami Vice In Bruges and Phone Booth, to name but a few.

Colin Farrell seems a reluctant exerciser. He drinks, smokes and generally parties hard. And why shouldn't he ... he's young (ish) and a Hollywood mega star. But even with these vices (pardon the pun) he looks fantastic.

The Colin Farrell workout

Colin Farrell isn't the biggest or leanest of guys but he has a physique to make most Hollywood starlets go weak at the knees. From looking at Farrell it appears he works hard on this aerobic ability through running and boxing-type bag work. In terms of resistance exercise, it appears he works hard on the classic 'beach muscles' of arms, chest and abs.

The Colin Farrell resistance workout

Clearly not moving huge weights around Colin Farrell looks like he's happy to use his own body weight and some select exercises to improve and maintain his physique. No doubt some film parts (I'm thinking Miami Vice and Alexander The Great) do require Farrell to work that little bit hard, but in general this resistance workout will look something like this:
  • Press ups
  • Sit ups
  • Crunches
  • Bicep curls
  • Shoulder presses
NOTE: To improve overall fitness perform such routines as a circuit, resting for a couple of minutes after each no stop round of exercises. The Colin Farrell fitness workoutAgain more of an exerciser when a movie part requires, Colin Farrell improves this fitness like most of us, by hitting the treadmill or the road. Running is the single best way to quickly improve your fitness as it requires you to hold up your own body weight while propelling yourself forwards.
